Goal

Our main goal was to improve the user’s efficiency, by consolidating and rewriting an older disparate system into an enterprise-wide application.

My Role

In our team, I helped layout the page structure and created sketches and wireframes. In addition, I was responsible for building clickable prototypes for the Industry, Group, Meetings and Publications search and detail pages as well as the Market Guide layouts.

I also created the icons and applied company standards and branding to ensure a consistent experience throughout the website.

Screen Flow

Based on the discussions with the team and after reviewing the different applications the data was being pulled from, we started sketching ideas of how the pages would be organized and best structured for the users.

Wireframes

The business analyst and I discussed what the business goals were, and I created prototypes to support the new concepts.

We received feedback from the product manager to help us take our concepts further. Then, we incorporated feedback and I updated the wireframes to present to the users.

Prototypes

I designed the Market Analysis site to help our users be more efficient by accessing their information in one centralized location. The main page has 4 areas the users can navigate to which will take them to a search page that produces a list of results based on their search. Detail pages are linked through the search results so they can edit and save as needed. Here are some screens to show how some of these pages would look.

Since this was a new project, the stakeholders needed some functionality to see how the site would work. Thus, I started creating a functioning UI, while applying the standards and testing out the UI to see how the stakeholders responded to it. Specifically, the stakeholders wanted to see some functionality to fully understand the flow, so I added more detailed functionality with a clickable UI prototype.

Iterations

The stakeholders came back with a large update to one of the more complex pages, the market guide. The market guide was a complex section with heavy compliance, that brought together multiple financial data sources to produce an enterprise-wide solution for internal users.

Due to the complexity of the market guide, I had several whiteboard sessions and discussions with the business analyst, product manager, and developer on how we can approach this.

The team and I discussed how to address these requests, while ensuring they would not interfere with usability. After working through all the requests, we finished the site and it is now providing our users with a positive user experience and improving efficiency.
